Masters in Communication and Journalism

Journalism has embraced unprecedented shapes and styles today primarily due to the ever growing media technology and the media industry. Masters in Communication and Journalism is designed to offer full-fledged training to students in journalism to help them pursue their goals both in the fields of academics and media industry. The course has been designed with the help of industry professionals and alumni. The internal staff as well as professionals from the industry will be conducting the lectures. The Department has a full-fledged computer lab and can impart industry oriented training for all the courses.
 
This programme that combines both theory and practical will help students learn and practice the important tenets communication and journalism. Students are introduced to Communication Theory, Media Economics, Reporting and Editing, Media Criticism, Media Ethics, Television Studies, Film Studies, Advanced Media Research, Media Laws, Media Ethics, Media Production and New Media. The learning will also involve practical in each subject so as to help students gain practical experience in journalism. The course will culminate with dissertations that involves continuous evaluation of dissertation of the learners.
