Masters in Film Studies

Cinema has undergone tremendous transformation over a century. Technological innovations coupled with understanding and perceptions of cinema today demand both theoritical and practical knowledge a must in film making. Masters in Film Studies is designed to offer full-fledged training to students in journalism to help them pursue their goals both in the fields of academics and media industry. We train the students in the art of film making. The course has been designed with the help of industry professionals and alumni. The internal staff as well as professionals from the industry will be conducting the lectures. The Department has a full-fledged computer lab and can impart industry oriented training for the course.  

This programme that combines both theory and practical will help students learn and practice the important aspects of Film making. Students are introduced to Film Theory, History of World Cinema,Contemporary World Cinema, Indian Cinema, New Media, Visual Communication, Writing for film, Film Production techniques, Post Production techniques, and Advanced Media Research, The learning will also involve practical in each subject so as to help students gain practical experience in the field of Film making. The course will culminate with dissertations that involves continuous evaluation of dissertation of the learners.
